QUESTION: What drew you to illustration/design?

ANDY: Selling sneakers just was not what I wanted to do forever.

QUESTION: Do you have any formal design training?

ANDY: I studied communication design.

QUESTION: Where do you live?

ANDY: I live in the countryside, close to Trier, the oldest city of Germany.

QUESTION: Can you describe your studio for me? ANDY: Long desk, art and design books, music and godzilla. QUESTION: What is your biggest inspiration? ANDY: Everything. Music, art, film, life. QUESTION: How do you get the best ideas? ANDY: I wish there was a recipe. QUESTION: What technique do you use? ANDY: I try not to be too hooked to just one technique. Between pure digital work and handmade collages, it´s all there. QUESTION: Tell us about a favorite project you have recently completed? ANDY: Nike booked me to do an artwork for the release of the new Lebron James signature shoe. QUESTION: What would be your dream job/Commission? ANDY: Doing the album cover for Pharrell Williams or Kanye West would be really neat. QUESTION: Who are your illustration heroes? ANDY: There are quite a few personalities that inspire me. Kaws, Basqiat, Warhol, Andrew Salgado, Clean Peterson… But none of them is my role model. QUESTION: Do you keep a sketchbook? ANDY: Several and none of it is filled. QUESTION: What are your hobbies? ANDY: Good food, art and travelling. QUESTION: If you were not an illustrator, what would you be? ANDY: Probably a musician. QUESTION: Who would you like to meet? ANDY: Pharrell Williams, Jean Michel Basquiat would be exciting too. QUESTION: If you could travel back in time, where would you go to? ANDY: Back to the 70s. Woodstock. QUESTION: If you won the lottery, would you still work as illustrator? ANDY: I would decide that spontaneously. QUESTION: Do you collect anything? ANDY: I am working on an art collection. QUESTION: Do you have a favorite game? ANDY: S.K.A.T.E.
